The PromoCell Myocyte Growth Medium is a low serum (5% V/V) medium supplemented with well chosen hormones and growth factors. It was developed for the optimal expansion and maintenance of primary cardiac myocytes in culture.Although all PromoCell media are optimized for use with primary human cells, we have received feedback from customers that this particular medium can also be used for murine and primary rat cardiac myocytes.| Media supplement | Final supplement concentration|| Fetal Calf Serum | 0.05 ml / ml || Epidermal Growth Factor (recombinant human) | 0.5 ng / ml || Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor (recombinant human) | 2 ng / ml || Insulin (recombinant human) | 5 µg / ml |

Tryptone Glucose Extract (TGE) Agar is used for the cultivation and enumeration of microorganisms in dairy and bottled water products. Tryptone Glucose Extract (TGE) Agar is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans. In the 1930’s, Bower and Hucker developed a medium for detecting bacteria in milk and other dairy products. Prickett used a glucose agar containing tryptone to study thermophilic bacteria in milk. This medium is known as Yeast Dextrose Agar. In 1948, the American Public Health Association (APHA) adopted Tryptone Glucose Extract Agar for use in testing milk and dairy products. Currently, APHA specifies Tryptone Glucose Extract Agar for the heterotrophic plate count procedure in testing bottled water. Tryptone Glucose Extract Agar is also known as Yeast Dextrose Agar. For more information visit https://www.neogen.com/solutions/Microbiology/tryptone-glucose-extract-tge-agar

Stellate cells are a resident cell type of the liver primarily functioning to store retinoids In response to liver damage stellate cells rapidly lose the stored retinoids and differentiate into a proliferating fibroblast-like cell that begins depositing collagen matrix This activity causes buildup of collagen in the liver eventually leading to cirrhosis Stellate cells can be isolated from liver tissue enriched and placed into cell culture When placed into culture stellate cells begin to immediately differentiate into the activated state Human Cryopreserved Stellate Cells 100K cells/vial are stellate cells enriched from human liver isolations and grown to 80% confluency and then cryopreserved Human Stellate Growth Medium (Catalog MCST250) is available to support optimal culture health and growth characteristics of stellate cells Characterization performed Post-thaw plating to observe characteristic stellate morphology
